With all the summer holiday parties upon us, we thought we would share some of our favourite themes for your little one’s big day. From soft pastels to rainbow brights, Star Wars to dinosaurs, here are our favourite ideas for an unforgettable celebration, all of them super simple to re-create at home.

When it comes to colour, pastels are the prettiest, as shown in these party pics (above and below) styled by Oh Happy Day. Simply pick a theme and away you go… Magical unicorns, confetti cupcakes, strawberry ice cream – anything goes with this colour pallet!

If pastels aren’t their favourite, how about a bright Rainbow theme? Unisex AND fun for all ages, this theme is super simple but super eye-catching! We love the Meri Meri rainbow collection (pictured below):

And we spotted this easy but effective styling idea on Instagram – dress up the table with multi-coloured balloons arranged as a rainbow, using plain colours for the rest of the table:

This wonderful safari theme (below) was styled by party planners Red Wagon Events in Australia. We adore the turquoise and bright red colour combination – and we love the use of the animal toys as centrepieces even more!

Equally fun is this dinosaur table, created by illustrator and graphic designer Melissa Anderson of Bringing The Happy for her little boy’s 2nd birthday party. The blue, green and bright orange looks stunning, and as for those dinosaur party hats…sooooo cute!

Last but definitely not least, Little Lulubel shows us how to do a Star Wars Party in style, in stunning monochrome and silver.

And we don’t know many 6 year olds that wouldn’t like that.
