Everybody loves Ikea, right?
We are huge fans here because of their clever designs and affordable prices. But whats even more special is how you can easily customise so many of their pieces, making it unique to you and your home. And you don’t always have to go for a full-on hack because we don’t always have the time. Sometimes a simple lick of paint, different handles or bed panels can make all the difference.
Take the bed pictured at the top. It’s been given some adorable bed panels that have been created especially for Ikea’s box spring beds. We love that even the simplest bed can be so easily upgraded into something so fun and magical for a kid.
We love the kid’s beds at Ikea but we especially love how we can transform them into something even more special with a little effort. Here are four more beds that have been given an upgrade:
This Ikea bed has been given a simple twist by painting on some stars and changing the handles. The stars add a playfulness to the bed and the wooden handles complement the decor in the room. Such an easy way to upgrade this bed and make it so fun for a kids room.
This Ikea Kid’s bed is like a bunk bed but only has one sleeping space. This mum has put in a platform, added a mattress and turned it into a fab bunk bed for two. She’s also painted it white to match the rest of her kid’s room and it looks great.
This is probably Ikea’s most popular children’s bed which isn’t surprising as it cleverly expands as your child grows and eventually becomes a full sized single bed. The bed is only available in black and white but you can always paint it like they’ve done in this room. The soft grey looks beautiful and is ideal for boy or girl. You can, of course, paint it any colour under the sun!
This bed probably requires a bit more effort than the others but it’s so clever so we had to include it. This bed is simply a mattress placed on top of Ikea kitchen cabinets and a kitchen worktop. Not only does it look cool, it’s a great storage idea too. And we love the dinosaur handle detail too.
