We all know that the best things come after bad experiences. Izabela, the Bebemoss’ founder, had to spend a lot of time in bed because of some complications in her last pregnancy. However, all this time allowed her to develop some crafting activities such as crocheting or knitting unique soft toys. She decided to sell her creations and the demand was soon too high for her. This is the origin of Bebemoss.
In order to fulfill all the orders, she created a women group to produce all the products for the brand. All these talented mums work at home so they choose the best moment to work. Furthermore, they can also go to the atelier where there is a space for their kids too. Can you imagine going to work with your little one?
Most of them are underprivileged women from Istanbul outskirts and this is a great (maybe the only) opportunity to make money and improve their situation. Bebemoss commits to pay them a fair salary for their creations according to the local laws. This amazing social project proves that improving the world is still possible and it’s a win-win deal.
If you take a look at their 100% handmade toys, you will feel the warmth of home, the thrill and the love of all these women who are trying to offer all their talent in a simple toy with its own soul. Every piece is made with high quality local GOTS certified organic cotton which is winded by them. Even the dolls’ eyes have a security pin and the stuffing of the toys is locally produced and Oeko Tex 100 certified Polyfill or upon request natural untreated wood to guarantee kids’ safety so every detail is carefully chosen.
