When you’re planning how to decorate a kids room, many questions come to mind. What are the best colours for a bedroom? How to create a stylish yet functional kid’s space?… You also look for inspiration in magazines, on Pinterest, etc. If you’re searching for ideas for a girl’s bedroom then I think that you will be delighted by this beautiful bedroom designed by Ursula Wesselingh.
Ursula is a Dutch interior designer living in London, founder of Room to Bloom, and contributor to many magazines, such as Living Etc, House & Garden or Mother & Baby. She has created a beautiful, calm and interesting room for a Charlotte, a 3-year old girl.
The colours of a room probably have the largest initial impact on how you feel in that space. The palette scheme of this girl’s room is soft, stylish and relaxing. Soft grey with dusty pink and aubergine accents are perfect to form a soothing background to pink toys.
To scale the room down and make it feel cosier, Ursula chose a cupboard bed (and, of course, Charlotte fell instantly in love with this very special bed). The tree wallpaper from Ferm Living emphasizes the sleeping area and creates a cosy corner.
Ursula has chosen carefully all the accessories. The Heico Bunny lamp, the bedding from Numero 74 or the Swan Head from Sew Heart Felt add a little of magic to the room.
It’s very practical to incorporate some bookshelves for displaying her most beautiful books, an armchair for resting and reading, and modular shelves for storing toys, kids stuff and little treasures.
Definitely, a sweet girl’s room with personality and charm. Charlotte is a lucky girl!
