Which kid doesn’t have a ton of art and craft supplies? Our home is over-flowing with paints, coloured card, felt pens, stickers and so many more craft materials.  I love that my child loves to create but I don’t love the mess that the supplies create.

Recently I’ve been thinking about ways to organise all these art and craft supplies in one place so that they are always easy to find and have a home to go back to when they’re done with.

In an ideal world it would be great to have a dedicated art and craft room but in the real world that’s not always possible. So, no matter how small or big your home, there are lots of ways to organise your art supplies. Here are some of my favourite ways that can work in any space especially small spaces:

This is such an organised, colourful and creative crafting space. A basic pegboard has been customised by adding containers, hooks and mini shelves to keep all the art materials tidy.  The desk and pegboard will easily fit into a small corner of any room so it can be placed in a kids room or even a study.

Another great arty desk space but this time, instead of a pegboard, they’ve used the wall for the storage. I love the storage jars attached to the bottom of the shelf, making use of the space under as well as above the shelves.  Again, it’s a small desk that can be placed in any room without taking too much space.

When you don’t have space for a desk or any kind of storage shelves, an art trolley is the perfect solution. It’s easy to organise your supplies and the best part is that kids can easily move it themselves to wherever they are creating. To add a bit of charm, try finding a vintage one like they’ve got in the picture above.

No space for a desk or even a trolley? Then this clever idea is for you. Paint a wall with chalkboard paint, add some shelves and storage containers and the wall becomes a place to store all the art supplies as well as the place to create. The best part of this idea is that it can be created in any room of the house, no matter how short of floor space you may be.

These are some of my favourite ideas to steal, especially the trolley one.  How do you organise your kids art and craft supplies?
