Functional, playful, fun and engaging. Here is the new kids collection of Kartell you don’t want to miss. The Italian design brand launches their first children’s collection at Salone del Mobile (12th -17th April 2016, Milano). Kartell has joined international designers (Nendo, Starck and others) and presents products for kids with stylish plastic silhouettes in pastel and pop hues.
Let’s have a closer look!
Have you seen the ‘H-Horse‘ yet? The Japanese designer studio Nendo has created a transparent plastic rocking horse inspired by H-beams, architectural steel beams used in large built works like skyscrapers and bridges. From the side, the toy has the curved profile of a traditional rocking horse. But its ends create the shape of an H or I, depending on the orientation.
This playful object combines functionality and strength, clean design and charm.
‘Smile’ stools by Nendo – Nendo has also designed children’s stools for Kartell with the idea of the emotion of a smile, creating a face in the imprint of the seat.
‘Airway‘ by Philippe Starck – The famous designer Philippe Starck has presented a stylish, streamlined ‘Airway’ swing, available in clear or opaque polycarbonate.
Another new product, the new Clip Clap table. Created by Ferruccio Laviani is a vibrant building game table.
Piero Lissoni has provided two pieces: ‘Testa Calda’ toy tractor and ‘Discovolante’ toy car. They’re nostalgic and contemporary designs at the same time, aren’t they?
Furthermore, Kartell is also offering a customisation service, adding names and drawings to the iconic ‘FL/Y’ lamp or ‘Lou Lou Ghost’.
