If ever there were a colour to make us feel like spring, green would be it!
From fresh mint to bright lime; rich emerald to deep forest, green comes in so many shades and tones with almost everything, not to mention being perfectly unisex for boys and girls alike.
First let’s talk about mint. Although it is generally regarded as a pastel, mint green can add a pop of colour to the most multi-coloured of spaces! The room above was designed and styled by Hélène, editor of the lovely Pour Mes Jolis Momes blog, as a shared space for her two boys at home. In a sea of beautifully bright colour, it is the mint green that really stands out from the rest:

In a similar way, lime green can add a splash of bright to multi-coloured bedrooms and playrooms, as shown in this fabulous shared girls’ room styled by Katie of Mummy, Daddy and Me Makes Three:

As a colour, green can be key to a number of fun, narrative bedroom ‘themes’. Trees, forests, flowers – and as Swedish design studio Mini Willa shows us in this fabulous lifestyle photo below – cacti! A fun trend for Spring 2016 (and already huge in Australia), the cactus theme is a lovely summery follow-on from the already-popular woodland explorer and teepee stories:

As these photos demonstrate, green looks both simple and stunning against a clean white background.

And in toned down, more muted shades, it is a beautiful colour for a nursery – adding a touch of calm to your little one’s sleeping space.
