Pilgrim is the new line of Feather Drum, a boho-luxe fashion statement for the truly free-spirited child. Inspired by a visit to Tokyo in 2016, the Autumn Winter 2017 collection has Japanese inspired silhouettes, clean lines, and bold minimalist style. Kelly-Lee, the founder, is based in Australia, so the collection is available now.
For Kelly-Lee, Pilgrim is also a personal journey to become more responsible in the way that she manufactures the clothing she designs. The new label offers womenswear and kidswear for 2 to 12 years.
The desire of developing an eco-label was an opportunity to experiment with keeping things clean and streamlined. She has created a clothing line that is modern, edgy, yet still very wearable.
The collection features just two natural fabrics, 100% linen which has been organically plant-dyed and hand knitted woolen pieces, created locally in Sydney by Jen O’Sullivan. For example, charcoal colour is achieved by using Gallnut Extract and iron water as mordants. Indian Madder, Turmeric, Pomegranate and Catechu as natural dyes.
You can find relaxed silhouettes, comfy garments and chunky knits for girls and teenagers. Natural materials and subtle colours, easy to combine and wear. Amongst our favourite clothes, the Yoko culottes, the bolero, the Michiko jumpsuit and one of their lovely skirts. Lots of them are trans-seasonal pieces, and the kids can use them through the year.
For special occasions, you can choice a shirt, blouse or kaftan. They will add a sophisticated touch to any outfit.
Sustainability and social responsibility have become the core values of this kidswear label. More and more small brands tend to adopt this type of production.
