Rabbit and deer is one of the best animations of the year. It’s a stunning short animated film about the friendship of two loveable characters whose peculiar dilemma leads to a bittersweet end.
Rabbit and Deer are living happily and careless until their friendship is put to the test by Deer’s new obsession to find the formula for the 3rd dimension. After an unexpected accident Deer finds himself in a new world, unknown to him. Separated by dimensions the two characters have to find the way back to each other.
Péter Vácz’s animations are an innovative twist on stop motion, utilising a blend on 2D and 3D (stop motion) elements within his films and incorporating their differences into his narratives. You’ll find sweet and also fun moments and a great narrative rhythm. This short animation movie, with its visual and emotional complexity, is engaging to both children and adults.
Rabbit and deer has been screened in 63 countries at more than 300 festivals and has won over 120 awards.
Enjoy!
