Today’s post is written in celebration of the humble spot!!!!
I loved anything spotty as a child and to be honest I still do now, 40 years later!
Spots are a great addition to any space frequented by children, what ever form they come in. They add pattern, texture, colour and above all an element of fun.
Spots on walls.
From lots of spots to just a few, wallpaper, wall decals (stickers) or even paint are the perfect way to add spots to walls.
It doesn’t really matter if you use large or small spots, dark or multicoloured spots. They all add fabulous detail, which can then be balanced with blocks of complementing or contrasting colours.
Dots on floors.
If spots on walls are too much for you then a spotty rug can be the perfect solution for adding just a little bit of spot! Spotty but not over powering.
Polka dot bedding.
Spotty bedding is a good way to add interest to a simply decorated room. These can also be replaced relatively cheaply if spots go out favour with your child! Perfect for children or teenagers, or even spot crazy grown ups (like me!!!).
Spotty accessories.
There are so many lovely spotty accessories to choose from, we could have gone on forever. Here are a selection of our favourites.
Multi coloured dot hooks create a useful wall display for hanging all sorts of children’s treasures.
Cleverly designed spotty doors add decoration and interest to a wall of cupboards.
The raised spots on these Ferm living cushions add texture to the spottiness.
The black and white spotty storage basket adds real impact to this room design.
These beautiful spotty curtains show that spots can also add an element of sophistication to a room as well as fun.
However you choose to decorate your child’s room, adding even the smallest touch of something spotty will bring the room to life.
